World Famous Hot Springs

Redstone, CO and Redstone Castle

Both just 10 miles from Aspen Glen, these two mineral-rich hot springs resorts draw wellness seekers from around the globe. Glenwood Hot Springs Resort and the adjacent award-winning Spa of the Rockies are world-famous for the enormous mineral hot springs pool which has delighted visitors since the 1880s. Iron Mountain Hot Springs offers 16 outdoor pools of varying temperatures – all naturally warmed by geothermal heat from the Earth’s mantle.

A short 20-minute drive on CO 133 takes you back two centuries. Redstone is an enchanting alpine village set on the banks of the Crystal River, surrounded by towering red cliffs. Take a carriage ride or stroll the Boulevard past quaint shops, a welcoming inn and working artist studios. Take notice of the Craftsman-era Swiss-style cottages constructed for miners in the 1800s that are still used as homes. The crowning glory in this aesthetic wonderland is the Redstone Castle, a 42-room mansion by John Cleveland Osgood that is open for tours.

Farm to table and field to fork are part of our culinary history. Ranchers have provided locally raised beef, lamb and fowl to restaurants for decades along with a healthy blend of produce, herbs, spices, fresh dairy products and artisan breads. Market Days are Tuesdays and Saturdays in Glenwood Springs; Wednesdays in Carbondale; Saturdays in Aspen; and Sundays in Basalt.
